Color Challenge CC822 at SplitCoastStampers

I love these bright fun colors for the challenge this week. I pulled out this older wood block penguin stamp from my Christmas stamp collection.

I also used some pink snowflake ribbon that has been in my stash for several years now.

CC820 Color Challenge at SplitCoastStampers

A perfect color combo for wintery themed cards.

Colors are all from Stampin Up. Heather Highland, Gorgeous Grape, Balmy Blue and Gray Granite.

I just purchased this new set from PowerPoppy.com called Forest Fellas. It is such an adorable set.

I also used that last little scrap of alpaca yarn from a crochet project I did.

I made a second card with the same colors and used the sketch from the challenge on the Sweet N Sassy Stamps Facebook Group. The stamp set is an older one from SNSS called Snowy Hello.

Christmas Card Making Has Begun

I've officially started making Christmas Cards.

I bought the new gorgeous Digital Junk Journaling Kits from Teal And Tattered. While the kits are meant for making junk journals, I decided to use them for making some Christmas cards.

I made this Triple Fold Card for the Falliday Fest Challenge over at SplitCoastStampers. Such a fun fold card.

The journal kit has envelopes. I made a mini card to fit one of the envelopes. And she has some great little quote cards in the kit that work great for greeting cards as well.

And I had to make a slimline card. Love that size. Especially because it showcases more of the gorgeous paper. I added a little fawn sticker that I "aged" with some inking. The stamped sentiment fits perfect in the design of the paper. And a little stitching to add some texture.

CC818 Color Challenge at SplitCoastStampers

Trying to get back into playing along with some of the challenges over at SplitCoastStampers.com. Hoping it helps to get my mojo back on track.

I made this card for the Color Challenge this week.

I used what I had that is similar to the colors in the challenge since I don't have the newer Cinnamon Cider and Purple Posy. I think it may be time to get some new colors from Stampin Up.

The Inspiration Challenge over at SpiltCoastStampers.com took me down a rabbit hole of inspiration. The site used for inspiration is Pippin Poppycock Mood Boards. I saved a bunch of her images to print out and keep for inspiration. I used this image from her site as my inspiration for coloring this wagon image. And here is the card I made with a newer set from Sweet N Sassy Stamps, Bushel of Blessings.

Although we have a few weeks left of summer, I am so very ready for Fall.

Faux Patina and Lots of Texture

I had some fun making backgrounds using a version of the Faux Patina technique. Messy but very fun.

I really love the new kit from Taylored Expressions called Field Notes. The flowers stamped on tan card stock and colored with Copic markers just looks so cool. And perfect with the "aged" patina backdrop. I also used my Stampin Up 3D wood textured embossing folder on the tan card stock and inked it. I love the look and feel of that as well.

I was inspired by Deirdre Cason on Sweet N Sassy Stamps Creative Worship Facebook group. She made inspiration journaling cards with the Refresh My Soul set. I used another faux patina background. I also included a piece of Sari Silk for more texture.

Hope In Him Junk Journal Card

Over at SplitCoastStampers.com there is a mixed media challenge thread called Messy, Mixed and Joyful. The fourth challenge calls for using paper towels in your project.

Challenge Accepted!

I use the sturdy blue "shop" paper towels to clean up ink and paint when I'm crafting. I grabbed the used paper towel that was sitting on my desk from my latest crafty session.

I tore a few pieces off and added them to this collaged card.

I also added some cheesecloth I dyed with watered down dye ink.

The 3-D letters are from Tim Holtz. They were in a Simon Says card kit. They are a little too thick for greeting cards, but perfect for mixed media.

I used some texture stamps from Sweet N Sassy Stamps to grunge it up.

I also pulled out my sewing machine and stitched it up to finish it off.

If you are reading this, let me know what you think in the comments.

Altered Playing Cards

Pulled out paint, ink, scraps and stamps to make some altered playing cards. I found a cute pack of Hello Kitty cards in my games and decided to alter them.

I was inspired to alter playing cards with the Messy, Mixed and Joyful challenge at SplitCoastStampers.com. #MMJ03

I used gesso to prep the cards before stamping and splattering paint. I used an old book page for some accents and paper piecing. I also dyed some cheesecloth with watered down ink and used pieces to add texture.

I went with a coffee theme so I could ink up my new Sweet N Sassy Stamps.
